Strengths-Based Pre-College Prep Coaching

Your teen doesn’t fit into a neat little box. Neither should their coaching experience.

There are all kinds of coaches out there:

Career coaches, college coaches, motivation coaches, mindfulness coaches, sports coaches, even purpose coaches. But here’s the truth: your teen doesn’t need another label. They need clarity and confidence before they dive into test prep, applications, or big life decisions.

That is what pre-college prep coaching is all about.

When you and your teen work with me, you get more than just a coach.

You get a confidant, a strategic partner, and a guide who meets your teen where they are and helps them thrive.

Through strengths-based coaching, teens come away with:

  • Confidence to make decisions based on who they are, not who they think they should be.

  • Clarity about their unique strengths, values, and the future direction that fits them best.

  • Self-awareness that helps them own their worth beyond test scores or college acceptances.

  • Encouragement and accountability to move past barriers and take meaningful steps forward.

This is not “fake it ‘til you make it” confidence. It is the deep confidence that comes from knowing who you are, what you want, and where you are headed.

“The biggest difference this program made for my teen was his confidence and self-awareness.

He now has a clear sense of what he wants to pursue in college and approaches the process with direction and purpose. As a parent, it gave both of us peace of mind.”

Process to Get Started

Step 1: Schedule a free Parent Strategy Call.
Click here to schedule your call. Because this coaching is personal, and because I want to make sure it’s the right fit for your teen, we’ll start by meeting one-on-one. During this call, we’ll talk through what’s going on, what your goals are, and how I can best support your teen.

Step 2: Choose the right Strengths Before Strategy framework.
Together, we’ll walk through each option to see which Blueprint makes the most sense for your teen. (There’s more to each one than what’s listed here!)

Step 3: Optional teen connection.
If it feels like a good fit, your teen will have the opportunity to connect with me before you make a final decision. This gives them a chance to ask questions, get a feel for coaching, and make sure they’re comfortable before we begin.

My Coaching Philosophy

Every client is unique, and that means every coaching relationship needs to be unique too. That, to me, is the joy of this work. I believe:

  • Every teen has strengths waiting to be discovered.

  • True confidence comes from knowing and owning who you are.

  • No one should have to figure out their future alone.

“I notice how my strengths show up in my life a lot more now.

Knowing my strengths helps me take a step back and look at the bigger picture and gives me a clearer idea of what college and my future could look like. It also helps me decide which classes to focus on and which ones might not be as important for my goals.

Julia, 11th Grade

My guarantee? If your teen moves back in with you after their first semester in college, I’ll give you your money back.

Seriously. If your teen doesn’t feel like they’re moving forward, if they hate their school, feel lost, or end up back home wondering what’s next, then I didn’t do my job.

The whole point of this work is to prevent that from happening. Every offer I have comes with a clear guarantee.

There’s nothing to lose. Only clarity and confidence to gain.

Why me? I am a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), and an MBA.

My professional background spans marketing, sales, project management, and entrepreneurship — and my passion is helping teens discover their strengths early so they can confidently take the next steps in their education, career, and life.

Something else you should know…in addition to working with teens, I also coach executives and business leaders. Whether you’re choosing a major or leading a company, clarity about strengths is the foundation for success.

These are my own top ten CliftonStrengths®, which shape how I coach:

  • None of my clients are problems to solve. They're high-achievers who want to get to the next level. I see the possibilities and help get them there.

  • It's a privilege to be privy to someone else’s journey. I don't take this work lightly.

  • Any action forward is a success.

  • When others don't believe in themselves, I do.

  • If you want something, you can pursue it. Dreams aren't just for the elite.

  • I connect the dots between what you want, where you've been and how you're totally capable of getting there.

  • How have you already been showing up in ways that work for you? And what’s the next best “room” for you?

  • Learning about yourself and making changes isn't for the faint of heart, even if all the change is for the better. I've got you while we figure this out.

  • There's a reason I love one-on-one conversations so much.

  • Sometimes we need someone to be the bridge between our current selves and the future we're pursuing.

*Never heard of CliftonStrengths before? As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, they’re a pretty big part of what I do. Get in touch to discover how learning and embracing one’s CliftonStrengths® can change one’s life.

“Watching my son articulate his strengths and feel proud of who he is was such a gift.

His confidence has deepened, and he now understands how he thinks and tackles challenges. This program was powerful to witness as a parent.”

FAQs

  • Absolutely. College or further education doesn’t have to be the end result. Being inspired to take action based on knowing one’s strengths is the ideal outcome, and that looks different for everyone. The same self-discovery and strengths-based skills apply whether your teen decides to go to college or explore the workforce. This process helps them clarify what they want to pursue, understand where their strengths fit best, and build confidence in making decisions about their next step.

  • That’s completely normal. Most teens feel uncertain or even hesitant at first, but once we start talking about them—their interests, motivations, and natural abilities—they usually open up quickly. This process is designed to be encouraging and engaging, not high-pressure or overwhelming.

  • Parents play an important supporting role. You’ll receive updates after sessions and have a chance for a follow-up call to hear insights and ask questions. Your teen’s sessions, however, are a space for them to explore freely and develop confidence on their own.

  • I primarily work with high school sophomores through seniors, but the process also works well for college students who are feeling unsure about their direction and college graduates. The ideal time to start is anytime your teen begins asking questions about majors, careers, or next steps after graduation or if you notice that they’re having trouble making decisions about their next steps.

  • By the end of the program, your teen will have a clear understanding of their top strengths and how to use them. They’ll know what environments bring out their best, what to look for in a major or career, and how to talk about their strengths with confidence in interviews, essays, and everyday life.

Let’s give your teen a shortcut to confidence and clarity before they take the next step toward college or career.

Let's do it

“Before this program, it was hard for me to talk about my strengths.

Now I can confidently describe who I am, which has made college applications and life so much easier. I finally understand how I work best and how to face challenges with a plan.”

Ezra, 12th Grade
